THE ‘SUPERNOVA’ ROLE (OTE: $162,500)

SuperNova

The word ‘supernova’ is an astronomical term for the super explosion of a star.
That explosion is unimaginably bright.
In fact, sometimes … it’s brighter than the entire galaxy, itself!

Truth is … supernova explosions are extremely, extremely rare.
So much so … that the last documented supernova in our galaxy (the Milky Way) …  happened more than 400 years ago.

The term ‘nova’ is also used to describe the explosion of a star … but a supernova has way more energy!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Not much, really.

That said … Match and Fable is on the prowl for a Director of Culinary for one of our clients.
And, at the riskof being a bit blunt … a ‘nova’ level Director simply won’t cut it.

THE ‘HENRY ZIEGLAND’ ROLE (OTE: $107,500)

HenryZiegland

As the story goes … in 1883, Henry Ziegland of Honey Grove, Texas broke off his engagement to Miss Maysie Tichnor. Understandably devastated … the young lady committed suicide. When Maysie’s brother heard the tragic news, he travelled to Ziegland’s farm … pulled out a pistol, shot Henry … and then shot himself!

However, Ziegland did not die! The bullet only grazed his face … and lodged itself into a nearby tree.

Some 20 years later, as Ziegland was chopping down a tree … he found the axe he was using couldn’t do the job! So … Henry bored a few holes into the tree and placed a small amount of dynamite into the holes.  To be careful … he stepped about 50 feet away … and set off the explosion.

The bullet … (which had lodged itself into that same tree, 20 years earlier), was blown out of the tree … striking Ziegland in his left temple – and killing him, instantly!

So … what does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing, really.

That said, this story (or hoax) speaks to an incredible coincidence. And, speaking of coincidences … if you happen to be a fit for our latest role … it’s a fantastic coincidence you happened across this posting!

THE ‘JAMES DEAN’ ROLE (OTE: $107,500)

JamesDean,jpg

James Byron Dean was born in Indiana on February 8, 1931.
He would go on to become an actor and pop-culture icon.

In September 1955, while driving his sports car … Dean was killed in a horrific car accident.
His car was towed to a garage … where the engine slipped out … shattering a mechanic’s legs.
A doctor purchased the engine and placed into his race car. Shortly after … he was killed in a race.
In that same race, another driver (who had Dean’s driveshaft fitted into his car) … was also killed.
When Dean’s Porsche was eventually repaired … the garage it was serviced in, was gutted by a fire.
The car was eventually put on display in Sacramento, where it fell off its mount – breaking a teenager’s hip.
In Oregon, the trailer the car was mounted on slipped from its tow bar … smashing through a storefront.
And, in 1959 … the car inexplicably broke into 11 pieces … while resting on steel supports.

So … what does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing, really.

THE ‘PIÑATA’ ROLE ($70,000 – $75,000)

Pinata.png

Did you know … the most traditional of piñata styles is the star with seven points?
Each cone represents 1 of the 7 Deadly Sins.
And … while the sole objective is to get to the candy … the game is actually riddled with all kinds of symbolism.

The blindfolded player with the stick represents faith trying to destroy evil … (faith is blind, right)?
The piñata symbolizes hope (hanging over our heads … looking up to the heavens with anticipation).
Finally, the smashed piñata represents charity … (as it rains down with candy for everyone)!

HamburgerYongeandSheppard

Did you know … the word ‘hamburger’ originates from the town of Hamburg in Germany?
The long and short of it goes a little something like this;

Back in the 19th-century … after trading with their counterparts in the Baltic provinces of Russia … German sailors brought back the idea of raw, shredded beef … (known today, as beef tartare).

Eventually … a local, German chef decided he’d throw in a bit of a ‘twist’ … and he cooked that beef! And, whaddaya know … the ‘hamburger’ was born!

Coffee4Closers

“Put that coffee down … coffee’s for closers”!

You won’t find too many sales people who haven’t seen this infamous movie. And, while Alec Baldwin was definitely a bit ‘over-the-top’ in this 1992 classic about unmotivated sales people … his message definitely resonates to every sales professional who wants to be the best at what they do.

Not much, really.
