Stig Severinsen (a Danish free diver) was born on March 8, 1973.
In December 2020 he destroyed the former world record, when he swam 202 meters – on a single breath of air!
He also happens to hold the record for holding his breath, under water – an unbelievable 22 minutes!
To put that in perspective, the average, adult human has a lung capacity of 5-6 litres … and can hold their breath for 30 to 90 seconds.
Severinsen can reach a remarkable – 14 litres!
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Not much, really!
That said, if you’re a top performing Financial Advisor in Vancouver or Toronto … don’t hold your breath looking for a better organization to join!

In the early 1800’s, there were two options for sending mail to California. The first option was via ship … (taking months at sea to be delivered).
The second option was considerably faster, only 25 days – via stagecoach!
In April 1860, three enterprising gentlemen recognized the need for a superior alternative. They called it – The Pony Express.
They organized a small army of horsemen and built a chain of 200 relief stations – spanning from Missouri to California.
The horsemen would ride between relief stations … handing their mail bags off to a new courier, every 75-100 miles. This ingenious solution reduced average delivery times to a blazingly quick – 10 days!
Interestingly, in order to keep the loads on the horses as light as possible … they only hired men weighing between 100 and 125 pounds. (The same weight as a modern-day jockey). And, while the average age of a rider was 20 years old … it wasn’t uncommon for teenagers as young as 14 years-old to be employed!
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Not much, really.
That said … our latest role happens to be located in Sacramento … the home of the original Pony Express!

Basketball fans … have definitely heard the term “dropping a dime”. But what does it mean … and how did it originate?
In the game of basketball … an assist is registered when one player makes a pass to another … and that pass is integral to a basket being scored.
The saying is believed to have originated from the days before cell phones … (when you actually had to find a pay phone to make a call).
Back then, it cost 10 cents to make a phone call … and a person would often ask another for a dime. As such … giving someone a dime was, in essence – assisting them to make a phone call.

Born in Alton, Illinois on February 22, 1918 … Robert Wadlow looked just like any other baby. However, by the age of one, he was over 3 feet tall, and … by his eighth birthday – nearly twice that!
At 13 years-old, Robert was the tallest Boy Scout in the world … at 7 feet, 4 inches. In 1936, he joined a traveling circus … drawing massive crowds.
In 1938, he became the spokesman for a shoe company and as a perk, he received free shoes (size 37AA). (In comparison … Shaquille O’Neal’s shoe size is 23)
Due to his extreme height … Robert suffered with a lack of feeling in his legs. Refusing to use a wheelchair, he chose to wear special braces to help him walk. Tragically, at the age of 22 … one of the braces caused a blister which Robert didn’t notice (due to the lack of feeling in his legs).
This blister eventually led to an infection … and ultimately … to the premature death of the gentle, ‘Alton Giant’. Robert’s last recorded measurement (18 days prior to his passing) was 8 feet, 11.1 inches!
