PONY EXPRESS (OTE: $90,000 – $140,000 USD)

In the early 1800’s, there were two options for sending mail to California. The first option was via ship … (taking months at sea to be delivered).

The second option was considerably faster, only 25 days – via stagecoach!

In April 1860, three enterprising gentlemen recognized the need for a superior alternative.
They called it – The Pony Express.

They organized a small army of horsemen and built a chain of 200 relief stations – spanning from Missouri to California.

The horsemen would ride between relief stations … handing their mail bags off to a new courier, every 75-100 miles. This ingenious solution reduced average delivery times to a blazingly quick – 10 days!

Interestingly, in order to keep the loads on the horses as light as possible … they only hired men weighing between 100 and 125 pounds. (The same weight as a modern-day jockey). And, while the average age of a rider was 20 years old … it wasn’t uncommon for teenagers as young as 14 years-old to be employed!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Not much, really.

That said … our latest role happens to be located in Sacramento … the home of the original Pony Express!

MUM’S THE WORD – (OTE: $170,000 – $180,000 USD+)

You’ve likely never heard of it.
(because it happens to be one of the world’s best kept secrets).
The Hapsburg Napkin traces back to the dining halls of Austro-Hungarian royalty.

Believe it or not … the instructions for the ‘royal act’ of folding the napkin a top government secret in Austria!

And, while many have desperately tried to ‘crack the code’ … to date, no one has succeeded.
Apparently, only two people in the entire world know the intricate directions … and they’ve sworn an oath to protect the mystery – at all costs!

There are no written instructions, anywhere.
(go ahead … try and google it)!

In fact, the secret is passed to a new individual only once death is imminent for one of the secret holders!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Nothing really!

That said, Sabrina Galli of Match and Fable happens to have a little secret of her own.
The difference is … for the right candidate – she’s willing to spill the beans!

VANISHED IN THIN AIR – (OTE: $140,000 – $155,000+)

For those brash enough to attempt a casino heist … the results are almost always jail time.
And, while many intricate schemes have been attempted over the years … extremely few have resulted in a prosperous haul.

That said, Bill Brennan, a clean-cut, 34-year-old from Pennsylvania … is the exception.
And, what’s even more amazing is the sheer simplicity of his plan … that left police flabbergasted!

On September 22, 1992, Brennan reported to work as a floor cashier at the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas – just as he had been doing for the previous 4 years.

Like usual, Bill worked the first half of his shift but … when lunch time rolled around, he grabbed his gym bag (filled with $500,000) … strolled past security … out the front door … and for all intents and purposes – vanished from the face of the earth!

The most successful robbery in Las Vegas history!

LUCKY DUCK – (OTE: $140,000 – $155,000+)

Born in Croatia in 1929 … Frane Selak has been labeled “the world’s luckiest, unluckiest man”.
We think the term “lucky” boils down to one’s perspective!

1962: A train Frane was riding in went off the tracks, crashing into a river. 17 people died – Frane broke his arm.

1963: Shortly before landing (on a flight from Zagreb to Rijeka), Frane and a flight attendant were sucked out of a malfunctioning plane door. 19 people died – Frane landed on a haystack!

1966: A bus Frane was riding in crashed into an icy river. 4 passengers died. – Frane managed to swim to shore.

1970: While driving his car … it caught fire. Frane escaped before the fuel tank blew up.

1973: A faulty fuel pump caused flames to shoot through the vents of his car – Frane’s hair got a little burnt.

1995: During a leisurely stroll in Zagreb, Frane was hit by a bus. He suffered minor injuries.

1996: To dodge a head-on collision, Frane swerved into a guardrail. The impact ejected Frane from the moving vehicle … but he managed to grab hold of a tree branch … while his car fell 300 feet into the gorge below!

In 2003, at the age of 73 … Mr. Selak won €800,000 in the lottery!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Not much, really.

That said … if you’ve had some bad luck working for some lousy companies … just like Frane Selak, your luck may just have turned!

THE ‘NUMEROPHOBIA’ ROLE (OTE: $60,000 – $80,000)

NUMEROPHOBIA (1)

Believe it or not … there’s a term for people with an irrational fear of numbers!
It’s called ‘numerophobia’.

Now, we’re all pretty familiar with the superstitions surrounding numbers.

The #13 is widely considered to be unlucky. So much so, that many architects skip the 13th floor when designing their buildings.

The #666 is believed to be the sign of the devil!

And … many people prescribe to the belief; bad things happen in 3’s.
For example, lighting three cigarettes with a single match … will lead to death!

But, numerophobia is a whole new level!
Individuals stricken with this affliction fear all kinds of numbers – especially complex math equations!

So … what does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing really.

That said … if you’re a numerophobe … this role definitely wouldn’t be up your alley.

THE ‘LUCKY DOG’ ROLE (OTE: $115,000+)

LUCKY DOG

In August 1923, the Brazier family of Silverton, Oregon took a road trip to visit relatives in Wolcott, Indiana.

While there … their dog, Bobbie was attacked by three dogs and vanished!

The Braziers searched desperately … but alas, were unable to find Bobbie – anywhere!
Devastated and defeated … they returned home to Oregon.

6 months later, and in terrible shape … Bobbie hobbled up to the door of the Brazier family home!

In the 6 months he’d been missing … Bobbie had crisscrossed more than 4,000 kilometers (23 kilometers per day) … which entailed swimming across rivers, crossing deserts and climbing mountains – in the dead of winter!

THE ‘PAY DIRT’ ROLE (OTE: $180,000 – $185,000)

PAY DIRT

The expression “pay dirt” came into existence in the mid-1850’s.
At the time … people from all over America were flocking westward … to join the California Gold Rush!

In the mining world … you’re considered to have ‘hit pay dirt’ once you’ve mined an area … deep enough into the earth, to find the profitable layer of precious metal. In essence … these folks were ‘striking’ it rich – with their shovel!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
