On December 16, 1773 … members of the Sons of Liberty (American Colonists) came together and disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians. In protest against Britain’s Tea Act (high taxation of tea) … they boarded 3 trade ships and threw 340 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor. This event came to be known as – The Boston Tea Party.

In today’s money, the value of the tea they dumped would be more than $1,700,000 USD … and … it would have brewed more than 18 million cups of tea!

That said, Boston happens to be located in New England. And, it just so happens our US-based client is looking for a hunter sales professional … to help grow their presence across the New England region.

Our client is looking for a sales professional with 3 to 5+ years of B2B sales experience to expand their ever-growing organization and continue to do what they do best; – create beautiful things!

POSITION:        BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
REPORTS TO:   DISTRICT MANAGER
TERRITORY:     NEW ENGLAND AREA

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for prospecting, identifying and bringing on new business in the expanding market
  • Attending social networking events
  • Identifying and creating a list of Top target accounts in the region (new logos)
  • Operating from a hybrid workspace, spending the majority of time on the road, in their territory, visiting prospective new clients and positioning services
  • Providing a consultative sales approach – creating value for both the client and organization

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in B2B sales with a focus on new business development
  • A genuine HUNTER mentality
  • ‘NICE-TO-HAVE: A background in landscaping or commercial landscaping, design/build construction … as well as key buyer/client relationships within the industry

 REMUNERATION

BASE SALARY: $50,000 – $75,000 (USD)
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $8,000 – $12,000 (USD) – uncapped

THE ‘BUFFALO BILL’ ROLE – OTE: $58,000 – $87,000+ (USD)

William Frederick Cody was born February 26, 1846 … in present day Iowa. He would go on to become an American soldier, bison hunter and showman.

During the American Civil War … Cody struck a contract with the Kansas Pacific Railroad to supply their employees with buffalo meat. Over the next 18 months … he killed 4,282 buffalo (nearly 250 per month)!

As it came to pass … Cody and another hunter, named Bill Comstock both wanted to use the nickname, “Buffalo Bill”. To settle the matter, they agreed to take part in a competition. Whoever killed more buffalo over a span of eight-hours, would earn exclusive rights to the moniker.

Cody emerged victorious by hunting down and killing 68 animals … to Comstock’s 48.

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

THE ‘KNOCKER-UPPER’ ROLE (OTE: $150,000 – $160,000)

In 18th century Britain … alarm clocks were neither reliable … nor cheap!
Even so … people still had to make sure they woke up on-time to get to work!
So … what did they do?

Well … they did what all their neighbours were doing.
They hired a “knocker-upper” to rouse them from their slumber.

This individual would carry a baton and knock on clients’ doors.
If clients lived on higher floors … they’d use a long stick … (often made from bamboo) to reach their bedroom windows.
The “knocker-upper” wouldn’t leave a client’s window until they were certain their client had climbed out of bed.

In return, the knocker-up would be paid a few pence a week.
Talk about a lousy job!?!?

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well, nothing. Nothing at all.

This role is certainly not lousy … and the remuneration is a far cry from a few pence per week! Our client is looking for a senior, technical sales professional with experience selling into Tier 1 automotive.

POSITION:        SENIOR AUTOMATION SALES PROFESSIONAL

CALLING ON:  TIER 1 AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY (+ OTHER INDUSTRIES)

SUMMARY:

Our client is a World Class manufacturer of automation systems for industrial, commercial and service & assembly sectors. Their products and level of experience coupled with their focus on client satisfaction truly sets them apart.

They’re looking for an experienced and highly technical sales professional with experience selling automation & welding processes for manufacturing & production all types of businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New business acquisition and building a client base through regular sales calls
  • Pro-actively target Tier 1 automotive clients … to initiate long-term partnerships
  • Particular focus to expand client base … outside of automotive industry
  • Provide a consultative sales approach and respond to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs
  • Manage territory performance and identify & prioritize high potential sales opportunities
  • Mentor, coordinate and manage team of application engineers
  • Strat & BP initiatives, plan development & execution


REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST HAVE: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial or Mechatronics)
  • MUST HAVE: 10+ years of technical sales experience, selling automation
  • Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs
  • Experience selling complex automation solutions … at senior levels
  • Experience leading a team of application engineers
  • NICE TO HAVE: Experience in pulp molding
  • NOTE: Client may consider candidates who have similar experience outside of Tier 1 Automotive.


REMUNERATION:

BASE SALARY: $110,000 – $120,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $40,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $150,000 – $160,000
OTHER: car allowance + benefits
