At 9:40am on August 11, 1934 … America’s infamous Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary opened its doors to 137 prisoners.
The prison had been designed to hold “the worst of the worst” – criminals who regularly caused problems at other federal prisons and were considered to have no hope of rehabilitating.
In nearly 30 years of operation … 36 inmates made a total of 14 escape attempts.
Of those convicts … 23 were apprehended, 6 were shot dead … and 2 drowned.
The remaining 5 went missing … presumed to have drowned.
In 1962, Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin, attempted the most renowned breakout from the facility.
With sharpened spoons … the trio chipped away at rotting concrete walls. They fashioned decoy heads (complete with locks of hair from the prison barbershop) … and strategically placed them in their beds, to fool the guards.
Their possessions were eventually found floating in the San Francisco Bay … but their bodies were never actually recovered! Some may speculate they may have been successful in their escape … but it’s extremely doubtful.
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well … nothing really.

Our client is a leading provider of security monitoring and a pioneer in replacing the need for physical onsite guards for construction sites as well as permanent security surveillance in other commercial businesses and sites.
Reporting to the District Sales Manager, this role offers a home-based office with in-field prospecting and client visits.
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering strategic sales presentations to potential clients regarding technical security systems including, Live Video Monitoring, CCTV and Access Control.
We’re looking for a candidate who is great at prospecting (both by phone and in-person) … and has a drive for building senior level client relationships.
Strategically prospect for new business via cold calling and in person within the specified territory
Develop and deliver innovative strategic sales presentations
Negotiate between clients and partners
Prioritize activities, territory management and customer information through diligent use of CRM
MUST HAVE: 5 years of B2B sales experience, selling technical services or products
Proven results in sales (for example; President’s Club or Merit Awards … etc.)
Must live in the territory
Driven to exceed sales targets, strong prospecting, relationship building and closing skills
Understands business implications of decisions; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition
BIG PLUS: Experience selling into the construction and multi-residential and/or property management sector
BASE SALARY: $85,000 – $95,000 (USD)
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: Year 1: $25,000 – $30,000 (USD) (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $110,000 – $125,000 (USD)
OTHER: mileage + vacation + phone + laptop + health benefits (medical / dental / vision) + 401K
