Growing up the son of Croatian immigrants … my life was full of unique experiences.
And, from what I could tell … these experiences weren’t typically afforded to other kids in my neighbourhood.

You see, by the age of 11 … my parents expected my sisters and I to be able to ‘handle things’ for them.

These ‘things’ included writing letters on their behalf … renewing insurance policies … calling Sears to schedule a repairman … and reading and filing the mail – among others!

One advantage of growing up in our house was the exposure to words that weren’t exactly English … or Croatian, for that matter.

One of my father’s classics was (and still is) … “un-believe-it”.
If the Leafs won … he’d shout “un-believe-it”.
Come to think of it, if they lost … he’d shout “un-believe-it” too!

We never knew if he really meant to say ‘unbelievable’ … or ‘I don’t believe it’ … or ‘I can’t believe it’. Whatever the case … he used it a lot!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well, nothing really.

That said, when it comes to this Vancouver-based role … my dad would definitely say it’s … ‘un-believe-it’!

SUMMARY:
  

In a word, our client’s business offering is simply … awesome!
They’ve been in business for nearly 25 years … and entered the Canadian market over a decade ago.

Their client base is a ‘who’s who’ of some of the largest companies in the world.
The role involves calling on advertising agencies … as well as targeting ‘client-direct’ business.

They’ve got their eyes set on significant growth and are looking for a business development professional to ‘make it rain’ in their Vancouver territory!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a hunter sales professional, responsible for driving new revenue … via new client acquisition.
  • Target advertising agencies … to develop creative strategies for target clientele
  • Generate client specific proposals … and creative ideas
  • Build genuine business relationships to achieve retention … while continuing to achieving sales targets


REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 5+ years of senior sales experience
  • Experience selling into … (and existing relationships with) advertising agencies in the Vancouver Area
  • 3 years of hunting experience … targeting and closing new logos
  • Not the type of person who waits for the Marketing Department to send them leads


REMUNERATION:

BASE SALARY: $85,000 – $120,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $50,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $135,000 – $170,000 (again … uncapped)
OTHER: cell phone + benefits

THE ‘HUG LIFE’ ROLE (OTE: $80,000 – $95,000)

And … the act of hugging has been proven to lower blood pressure!

You see, when we’re embraced … the sensation on our skin activates pressure receptors … called Pacinian corpuscles. These receptors signal the vagus nerve … which is the part of our brain responsible for lowering blood pressure!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well … nothing, really.

That said, Match and Fable’s client has asked Sabrina Galli to find them a Account Executive who can ‘hug’ their clients (well, not literally … but you get what we mean)!

Ultimately … they don’t want an individual who is simply wonderful at closing new business … but stops there. They need someone who can develop those client relationships … keeping them loyal for years to come!

SUMMARY

Our client is a national retailer of quality hardware for cabinetry, in the home building / design space.

This role requires someone with structured and disciplined sales success.
The company exudes a ‘fresh’ and liberating work structure.
Direction, support and training are abundant – apron strings, are not!

Working from a home-based office and reporting to the Director, you’ll be responsible for business development (75%) and account management (25%) … in the Vancouver territory.

We’re looking for a candidate who is exceptionally self-driven, hungry … and knows how to hustle!  A hunter … with the ability to “hug their clients”.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working independently to aggressively hunt for new accounts across the Greater Vancouver area
  • Build and maintain an active network of clients through strong account management by ensuring retention through providing tailor value-added solutions
  • Full-cycle sales process from prospecting through to closing … (and post sales)


REQUIREMENTS 

  • MUST HAVE: 1 to 3 years of B2B sales experience (hunting and farming)
  • Clearly defined sales process/consultative sales background
  • NICE-TO-HAVE: University degree or equivalent education
  • CSP designation and/or professional sales course(s)
  • BIG PLUS: Experience in Account Management in the building/design hardware and supplies industry
  • Contacts in the design/home building/home improvement community
  • Must be inspired & hungry … and not need a fire lit beneath you to get down to business
  • Must have strong entrepreneurial skills and the ability to work independently


REMUNERATION

BASE SALARY: $75,000 – $80,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $5,000 – $15,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $80,000 – $95,000 (uncapped)
OTHER: home office + benefits + car allowance
