THE ‘ALCATRAZ’ ROLE (OTE: $110,000 – $125,000 USD)

At 9:40am on August 11, 1934 … America’s infamous Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary opened its doors to 137 prisoners.

The prison had been designed to hold “the worst of the worst” – criminals who regularly caused problems at other federal prisons and were considered to have no hope of rehabilitating.

In nearly 30 years of operation … 36 inmates made a total of 14 escape attempts.
Of those convicts … 23 were apprehended, 6 were shot dead … and 2 drowned.
The remaining 5 went missing … presumed to have drowned.

In 1962, Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin, attempted the most renowned breakout from the facility.

With sharpened spoons … the trio chipped away at rotting concrete walls. They fashioned decoy heads (complete with locks of hair from the prison barbershop) … and strategically placed them in their beds, to fool the guards.

Their possessions were eventually found floating in the San Francisco Bay … but their bodies were never actually recovered! Some may speculate they may have been successful in their escape … but it’s extremely doubtful.

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well … nothing really.

That said … our latest role is located in the San Francisco area (about 3 miles from Alcatraz).

“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch!”
Clearly … the term refers to not banking on anything … before it’s realized.

As you’d imagine … it’s a very old phrase and is believed to have existed in many forms, across various cultures.

THE ‘CANDY FROM A BABY’ ROLE (OTE: $75,000 – $80,000)

Most sales people have worked for companies offering products or services that really aren’t much different than those their competitors are pushing.

As a sales professional … it’s incredibly frustrating trying to sell a “me too” product or service … when there isn’t a compelling reason for target clients to switch solution providers.

What if you could sell an exclusive offering … delivering a truly superior solution?
Well … that would be like taking candy from a baby – wouldn’t it?

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well, nothing really.

That said … our client’s offering is revolutionizing their industry and they need another sales professional to join their team and help them take advantage of the momentum they are experiencing!

THE ‘DROP THE MIC’ ROLE (OTE: $245,000 – $250,000)

These days … in the world of Hip Hop, deliberately dropping one’s microphone is a fairly common event.

But it wasn’t always that way. In fact … only the truest of hip-hop fans could identify the pioneer of this “move” as the legendary Rakim, in his 1987 track titled … “I Ain’t No Joke”.

“I used to let the mic smoke … now I slam it when I’m done … and make sure it’s broke”.

Since its origin … over 30 years ago, many performers outside the Hip Hop world have copied the move.  My personal favourite … “Coming to America’s” Randy Watson and his band … Sexual Chocolate!

In essence … the ‘mic drop’ now represents the ultimate expression of confidence & supremacy!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s role?
Well, nothing really.

That said, if this role was a microphone … I’d be slamming it down with authority!
In fact, once I’m finished writing this job description … I’m seriously considering dropping my laptop in the middle of the office – in tribute to this brilliant opportunity!

Quite simply … it’s not very often I consider quitting my career as a Head Hunter and begging my client to hire me. But … this is absolutely one of those times!

I guess I should have paid more attention in French class, as a kid!

INDUSTRY:                SOFTWARE SALES (SaaS)

It’s critical to note that … regardless of where the candidate is hired (Toronto or Montreal) … they will need to be fluently bilingual.

It’s also critical to note that our client isn’t necessarily bent on hiring a candidate who has already sold software. It’s far more important that this individual has sold at the national / enterprise level and knows how to hunt business in this space!

THE ‘HUG LIFE’ ROLE (OTE: $75,000 – $85,000)

Did you know a full-body hug stimulates your nervous system … and releases Oxytocin?
As a result … hugs are wonderful at decreasing feelings of loneliness as well as increasing self-esteem!

And we bet you didn’t know … the act of hugging has been proven to actually lower blood pressure!

You see, when we are embraced … the sensation on our skin activates pressure receptors … called Pacinian corpuscles. These receptors signal the vagus nerve … the part of the brain responsible for lowering blood pressure!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well … nothing really.

That said, our client has asked Sabrina Galli to find them a Sales Executive who can ‘hug’ their clients … (well, not literally … but you get what we mean)!

Ultimately … they don’t want an individual who is simply wonderful at closing new business … but someone who can develop client relationships … and keep them loyal for years and years … and years!

Our client is a national retailer of quality hardware for cabinetry, in the home building and design space.
