Joe Pistone grew up in Paterson, New Jersey.
He joined the FBI in 1969 and since he knew how to drive an 18-wheeler, he was assigned to the truck hijacking squad.
His ability to penetrate this crime ring led to the arrest of more than 30 criminals and, more importantly … demonstrated his potential effectiveness for his next mission.

In September 1976, Pistone walked out of his local FBI office and for all intents and purposes … ‘vanished’ for the next 6 years!

Long story extremely short … under his new alias ‘Donnie Brasco’ … he infiltrated the New York Mafia’s Bonanno Family. His involvement would lead to 200 indictments … and more than 100 convictions!

What does this have to do with our current role? – Nothing really.

That said … while you won’t need to join the mafia … you will be operating on the inside … in this Inside Sales role!

SUMMARY:

Unlike many of the Inside Sales roles you’ll come across … this one is truly consultative in nature.
It’s absolutely not telemarketing … and it’s definitely not about how many calls you can crank out.
It’s all about the quality of the connections and a strategic business development mindset.

There are no ‘robotic’ scripts to memorize … no auto-dialer … and no lunatic Sales Manager hammering you over the head.

As an Inside Sales Executive, you’ll be responsible for developing strategic relationships and closing new business.

You’ll be provided with extensive in-depth training and equipped with the tools required to maximize your potential.

POSITION:       INSIDE SALES EXECUTIVE
LOCATION:      MID-TOWN TORONTO (YONGE & EGLINTON)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategically target an assigned territory via cold-calling – using the company’s defined prospect database
  • Move accounts through all stages of the sales process; cold-calling, needs analysis, product demonstration, proposal, negotiation and closing
  • Qualify prospects by understanding their needs, the business strategies they follow and the challenges they face
  • Adopt the company’s consultative / needs based selling approach
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Close deals and make quota


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 to 3 years of consultative Inside Sales experience … this is NOT telemarketing!
  • Sales experience must be consultative in nature … (not ‘spray ‘n’ pray’ type sales)
  • A history of achieving sales targets in a B2B environment
  • Proven success in building senior level, C-Suite-type relationships
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Strong listening and questioning skills with impeccable spoken and written English
  • Comfortable working with technology


REMUNERATION:

BASE SALARY: $50,000 – $60,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $25,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $75,000 – $85,000 (uncapped)
OTHER: benefits + fixed hours (8:45am – 5:00pm) + realistic potential to earn 6 figures in Year 2

THE “GINGER ALE” ROLE (OTE: $55,000 – $70,000)

I grew up in the 80’s. As the son of immigrants from Croatia … we had what we needed … but we certainly didn’t have ‘extra’. Looking back … we were definitely at the bottom end of middle-class.

My mother would usually shop for groceries at the local Miracle Mart … and if we were expecting company that weekend … she’d splurge for a few bottles of pop! She never bought the ‘good pop’ … always opting for ginger ale. She thought it was healthier … and my sisters and I thought it sucked.

Every now and then … when ginger ale was on special … she’d buy a whole bunch of bottles.  At the time … you had to pay a 30-cent deposit for the 750ml and 60 cents for the 1.5-liter bottle.

Since I never received an allowance as a kid … sometimes I had to get creative when I needed a little cash.
One day, while in the fruit cellar … I had a genius idea. I grabbed 4 unopened bottles and walked over to the kitchen sink.
I poured each of them down the drain … and headed straight to Helen’s Variety to ‘cash-in’!

With $2.10 burning a hole in my pocket … I bought a king size Mars bar, a bag of Ring-o-lo’s, a bottle of coke … and as many one cent Swedish Berries as I could get.

This is where things went bad – fast.
I sat up on the ice freezer in front of the store … and began to feast on my bounty.
Moments later … I heard a car honk – it was my mother … wagging her finger and motioning for me to get home.

I won’t get into what happened when I got home (as the statute of limitations may not have expired) but suffice it to say … my mom didn’t know what ‘time-outs’ were.

What does this have to do with my latest role? Nothing, really.
That said … now that I have your attention … let me tell you about my latest Inside Sales role.

SUMMARY:

In this role … you will perform an absolutely vital task in the company’s overall sales process. This role’s primary objective is to act as a lead generator for the Outside Sales team.

You will prospect the restaurant industry to generate interest in the company’s numerous offerings with the objective of scheduling a follow-up call for the Outside Sales Team.

POSITION: INSIDE SALES EXECUTIVE / LEAD GENERATOR
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR, INSIDE SALES
OFFICE: 407 & WARDEN AREA
INDUSTRY: MARKETING SERVICES / LOYALTY PROGRAMS

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Research and contact restaurant owners via telephone and email informing them of the demand from reward seeking credit card clients for their goods and services
  • Briefly outline resources available through program to help increase client retention, activity, access unsecured working capital, and more …
  • Obtain prospects’ interest in company resources and schedule an in-person discussion with field sales staff
  • Coordinate post-meeting due-diligence

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience in an Inside Sales (Hunter Role) / Lead Generator
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A naturally persuasive personality … with the ability to build rapport, quickly.

REMUNERATION:

ENGLISH SPEAKING BASE SALARY: $40,000 – $50,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $15,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS (ENGLISH SPEAKING) YEAR 1: $55,000 – $65,000

BILINGUAL BASE SALARY:
$50,000 – $55,000
