In August 2017, a delivery truck driver pulled up to a Juvenile Detention Centre in Texas.

BONNIE & CLYDE ($65,000 – $85,000)

Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chesnut Barrow – better known as the duo, “Bonnie & Clyde” are perhaps, the most romanticized criminals in American history.

The pair met in Texas in 1930 and became infamous for their bank robberies – although the truth is … they robbed far more “mom and pop” gas stations than they did banks.

Over the next 4 years, they murdered at least 9 police officers and 4 civilians – before meeting their own demise on May 23, 1934, in a police ambush on a road in Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Growing up the son of Croatian immigrants provided many ‘unique’ experiences.

Bjorn Ironside is believed to have been a Viking king who ruled over present-day Sweden, in the 9th century.

As one of his “side-hustles” … he would lead surprise attacks into cities located in present-day Europe.

In one of his most notorious raids, Ironside partnered with another Viking – Hastein, to attack the Italian city of Rome.

Soon after the raid began, the duo realized Rome was very well fortified against an enemy assault.

So … they came up with an alternative plan!

EVEL KNIEVEL ($115,000 – $120,000+)

Robert Craig Knievel, Jr., was born in 1938 and raised by his grandparents in the small mining town of Butte, Montana.

His early career included a mishmash of occupations; pro hockey, the U.S. Army, copper mining and even a brief stint as a petty criminal … dabbling in safe-cracking & hold-ups!

In 1965, he assembled a troupe called “Evel Knievel’s Motorcycle Devils”.

His “thing” became motorcycle jumping … and his New Year’s Eve stunt at Caesar’s Palace in 1967 brought him international fame.

The Caesar’s Palace fountain jump was his longest attempt – at 141 feet.

Unfortunately, mechanical issues with his motorcycle resulted in a dramatic crash … where Evel sustained numerous injuries including … a crushed pelvis, a broken femur, a fractured hip, wrist and both ankles!

He also suffered a concussion resulting in a 29-day coma!

Evel’s career would go on to include numerous jumps including; Greyhound buses, live sharks and Snake River Canyon in Idaho. He retired in 1980 … having suffered nearly 40 broken bones over his career.

The Red Hand has long been a cultural symbol representing the Province of Ulster, in Northern Ireland.

As one legend of its origin has it … once upon a time, there was a king who had two sons.

When it comes to notorious gangsters, few names have garnered more infamy than – John Dillinger.

In fact, it was Dillinger’s laundry list of capers that eventually led to J. Edgar Hoover overhauling the FBI.

In April 1934, Dillinger and a group of outlaws were surrounded by FBI Agents at a roadhouse in Mercer, Wisconsin.  

Gunfire eventually broke out, but somehow … in all the confusion, the gangsters (including Baby Face Nelson) managed to escape. It is believed Dillinger buried $200,000 in a suitcase, somewhere near that roadhouse.

Three months later, after having recovered at his father’s farm … Dillinger returned to Chicago.

On July 22nd as he was leaving a theatre, two Federal Agents approached him. 

Dillinger pulled his weapon and was shot four times … and died. 
It is believed the $200,000 he hid in Wisconsin … is still buried there today!

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

INTOXICADO ($70,000 – $80,000)

In 1980, 18-year-old high school sports star, Willie Ramirez arrived at a South Florida hospital – in a coma.

His Cuban friends and family did not speak English.

In their struggle to communicate with the medical staff, a family member used the word ‘intoxicado’.

(In Spanish, the word means someone has ingested something – it could be a drug or a bad hamburger!)

The ER doctor assumed it meant ‘intoxicated’ … and immediately diagnosed Ramirez with a drug overdose.

Even as results of numerous ‘tox screens’ came back clean … medical staff never questioned the doctor’s initial assessment.

36 hours later, someone finally figured out Willie was suffering from a blood clot in his brain.

But, it was too late … Ramirez had suffered irreparable damage.

Regrettably, a year later, he left the hospital – a quadriplegic. He was eventually awarded $71 million in a medical malpractice suit. For the record, a translator on staff would have cost the hospital about $40,000 / year.

That said, Match and Fable’s Zafreen Kassam is looking for a translator of sorts. Our client needs a Senior Analyst, Logistics and BI, to be an intermediary between the IT department and the Sales and Executive teams.

SUMMARY:

Our Mississauga based client provides highly customized logistics solutions and they’re looking for a Senior Analyst, Logistics & Business Intelligence to play a crucial role in the success of the business.

This position works closely with both IT Department and the Sales and Executive Teams. In essence, they are the intermediary who understands the ‘language’ of both groups and can translate needs and information both ways!

POSITION: SENIOR ANALYST, LOGISTICS AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design / develop reports and dashboards using reporting development tools (Excel, SSRS and Power BI)
  • Communicate with IT Department to provide business logic for data structure development
