THE EXECUTIONER ROLE (OTE: $93,500 – $115,500)

In the late 1700’s, in Roscommon, Ireland … a woman named Betty and her son lived in miserable poverty.  While it was uncommon for someone raised in such conditions to be literate … Betty was!

She taught her only son to read and write and would constantly remind him that only money could bring him happiness in life. And, when he was old enough … she encouraged him to leave Roscommon and find his fortune – in America!

Years later, one dark evening … a tall, well-dressed gentleman knocked on Betty’s door looking for a place to stay. Betty let him in, and later that night, as he slept … Betty crept into his room, and murdered him for his money!

As Betty rifled through the man’s things … to her horror … she discovered the ‘stranger’ was, in fact … her son!

Overcome by the shock of her actions, Betty ran screaming into the streets … confessing her guilt. She was arrested, stood trial … and was condemned to death – by hanging!

On Execution Day … as Betty and a few other criminals were being led into the yard … they were informed the executioner had “called in sick” … and the sheriff was refusing to personally perform the executions.

Seizing her opportunity … Betty asked that her life be spared … in return for hanging the other prisoners – herself!

The sheriff agreed … and Betty got to work! “Lady Betty” was so efficient and capable … she was appointed as Roscommon’s Hang Woman … a job with a yearly salary … and room and board!

THE ‘PUZZLE’ ROLE ($50,000 – $55,000)

In 1980, the Rubik’s Cube made its worldwide debut … and became an instant craze.

Two years later … the record for solving the peculiar puzzle stood at 22.95 seconds!
29 years later, Feliks Zemdegs would break the 6 second barrier … solving the puzzle in a mere, 5.66 seconds.

RULE #1: It had to ‘go down’ on a Saturday night … after dark.
(So … if your parents insisted you had to be home “when the street lights came on” … you pretty much disqualified yourself!)

RULE #2: You couldn’t knock on the screen door … it had to be the ‘real’ door!
(Having to open the screen door wasted precious seconds … increasing the odds of getting caught.)

RULE #3: You had to knock 3 distinct times.
(Ringing the doorbell, while knocking would elevate you to legendary status!)

RULE #4: You couldn’t pick the target house … that was always decided for you!
(And, it was usually a house with a crazy dog … or heaven forbid, the house everyone insisted was haunted.)

THE ‘ROUGH ON RATS’ ROLE ($75,000 – $80,000)

In 1895, Tillie Gburek married John Mitkiewicz. In 1914, John passed away from what was believed to be “a heart condition”. Tillie’s second husband, Joseph Ruskowski also died … as did her next boyfriend.

Tillie’s third husband was Frank Kupczyk. Tillie would greet Frank in the morning, saying “it won’t be long now” … “you’ll be dying soon”. As Frank’s health deteriorated … Tillie began knitting herself a mourning hat … and even purchased a bargain coffin – storing it in their basement!

Upon Kupczyk’s death, Tillie remarried, yet again. And, as you’ve probably guessed, this husband (Frank Klimek) also fell ill. But this time … doctors suspected arsenic poisoning, and lab tests confirmed it!

As she was being arrested … Tillie turned to the police officer and said …”the next one I want to cook a dinner for, is you”.

The bodies of Tillie’s victims were exhumed … and were found to contain lethal doses of arsenic. Her “weapon of choice” had been a rat poison called – Rough On Rats!

Following her arrest, it was found that; a total of 20 people had fallen ill after dining at Tillie’s home (14 of whom died) and Tillie, newly nicknamed, “the Poison Widow” … had life insurance policies on all of her husbands!

PS: On the bright side … you may be glad to know, after 3 months in the hospital … Joseph Klimek survived!

This individual will assist with the overall quality and regulatory processes and ensure all documentation is updated, as per Health Canada and FDA guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Update and organize procedures and documentation, as per organizational guidelines

THE ‘MONEY BOX’ ROLE ($45,000)

Victor Lustig was born January 4, 1890 in Hostinné, Austria-Hungary (present day Czech Republic). Lustig was an extremely skilled con-man and is infamous for being “the man who sold the Eiffel Tower – twice”!

He’s also known for originating the “Rumanian Box” scam – aka the Money Box.

Lustig would approach an individual with a ‘machine’ he claimed could duplicate any currency placed inside it. The ‘machine’ was a specially designed mahogany box with two small slots and a number of levers and mechanisms that had to be carefully maneuvered to produce the duplicate currency.

To convince the person the Money Box truly worked, Lustig asked them for a $100 bill.
He would insert the bill into his device, and explain that the machine would take 6 hours to create the copy.

When the 6 hours had passed … Lustig would reach into the machine and magically produce a perfect ‘counterfeit’ bill (which was in fact, a real $100 bill he had pre-loaded)!

Lustig would then accompany the individual to a bank to authenticate the note.
Once the person was whipped into a frenzy (thinking they’d struck it rich) … Lustig would sell them the box for thousands and thousands of dollars.

Before delivering the machine … Lustig would pack the Money Box with 4 real $100 bills … which would provide him with 24 hours to get out of town … before the individual realized they’d been conned.

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Absolutely nothing!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and monitor processes in collaboration with the Management Team and Standards of Excellence for Front Desk, Concierge and Reservations groups
  • Review and monitor guest relationship management strategies within the team to exceed expectations
  • Responsible for training, scheduling and daily management
  • Responsible for the data accuracy and handling of guest records

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Elite-level customer service skills … able to listen carefully and multitask

THE ‘KNOCKER-UPPER’ ROLE (OTE: $150,000 – $160,000)

In 18th century Britain … alarm clocks were neither reliable … nor cheap!
Even so … people still had to make sure they woke up on-time to get to work!
So … what did they do?

Well … they did what all their neighbours were doing.
They hired a “knocker-upper” to rouse them from their slumber.

This individual would carry a baton and knock on clients’ doors.
If clients lived on higher floors … they’d use a long stick … (often made from bamboo) to reach their bedroom windows.
The “knocker-upper” wouldn’t leave a client’s window until they were certain their client had climbed out of bed.

In return, the knocker-up would be paid a few pence a week.
Talk about a lousy job!?!?

What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well, nothing. Nothing at all.

This role is certainly not lousy … and the remuneration is a far cry from a few pence per week! Our client is looking for a senior, technical sales professional with experience selling into Tier 1 automotive.

They’re looking for an experienced and highly technical sales professional with experience selling automation & welding processes for manufacturing & production all types of businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New business acquisition and building a client base through regular sales calls
  • Pro-actively target Tier 1 automotive clients … to initiate long-term partnerships
  • Particular focus to expand client base … outside of automotive industry
  • Provide a consultative sales approach and respond to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs
  • Manage territory performance and identify & prioritize high potential sales opportunities
  • Mentor, coordinate and manage team of application engineers

REQUIREMENTS:

THE ‘ROPE-A-DOPE’ ROLE (OTE: $110,000 – $121,000)

On October 30, 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaire … 60,000 spectators gathered to watch George Foreman (the undefeated world heavyweight champion) and Muhammad Ali (the former champion) square off against one another … in what is widely considered the greatest sporting event of the 20th century.

The historic boxing event … dubbed “The Rumble in the Jungle” had Ali pegged as a 4-1 underdog.

Facing a physically superior competitor … Ali recognized he had little chance of victory if he tried to trade blows with Foreman. As such, he had a secret plan … and as the second round commenced … Ali put his never before seen “Rope-a-Dope” plan into action.

Leaning back on the ropes and covering his head, Ali allowed Foreman to punch at his arms and his body. Weathering a storm of punches … Ali would deliver a flurry of strategic shots, once George had grown tired.

LOCATION:               NORTH YORK / VAUGHAN AREA
INDUSTRY:                HEALTHCARE

SUMMARY:

The National Manager, Logistics will optimize the organization’s transportation network by leveraging existing infrastructure + alternative modes of transportation to meet client commitments and provide optimum service. Collaborating with Operations and Sales … the focus will be to improve service levels by identifying efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Analyze transportation service offerings (on both client and vendor sides) in to increase efficiencies
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop plans to address gaps in service, cost and market rates
  • Develop transportation team via training and implementation of best practices
  • Collaborate with internal departments to review inbound costs and advise on strategies to reduce costs
  • Identify alternative inbound schedules and loading procedures to improve efficiency of receiving activities
  • Conduct meetings with stakeholders to review receiving costs, metrics and trends
  • Review delivery schedules, order availability and client commitments … and propose appropriate solutions
  • Analyze company’s delivery service offering + customer inputs + individual carrier performance
  • Monitor transportation services + costs … to identify trends and highlight areas of improvement
  • Develop dynamic costing model to assign transportation costs to specific accounts to evaluate profitability
  • Negotiate freight rates + services with carriers + review existing service + manage relations with suppliers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST HAVE: 10 to 15 years’ experience in transportation / logistics industry
  • MUST HAVE: 5 years’ experience in a management capacity
  • MUST HAVE: Post-secondary education + a professional designation CITT
  • Extensive experience dealing with transportation service providers for all modes of transportation within Canada including; couriers, common carriers, dedicated carriers, air carriers … and rail
  • Experience in cross-border shipping + strong planning skills + MS Excel + knowledge of AS400
